Trick or Treat

Joshua didn't have a preference as to what he was going to be for Halloween and Jacob was going to be a baseball player. After watching tv last night we got the idea for Joshua to be a chick magnet and then Jacob decided to be a letter to the Great Pumpkin.

It's time to get home

Now on the last day of the trip all I look forward to is getting home. Back just three years ago home time was the rarity and hotel life was the norm. I don't miss those days.

With that said, downtown Tampa is a nice area, especially now while the humidity is low.

Just watch out for the iguanas.

Waiting to board the plane

I am at the Jackson airport waiting to go to Tampa for the next few days to attend an industry conference. As I am sitting here I am reminded how much I do not miss the days that I flew out every week. Things are much better now.

I have been working on a couple of "putt-putt" holes for the fall festival coming up at church and here are the results.

Friday night Jacob was able to go to an overnight sleepover birthday party for one of his friends at school. He had a blast, but it was a bit of a stretch for Kristina as we had never met the parents until we dropped him off. It all went well, and it gave us a chance to have an evening with just Joshua. Jacob doesn't like Japanese food, but we love it so we took this opportunity to visit Stix. Joshua decided that he was going to eat with chopsticks and did great.

Now I am going to use the next bit of time that I am in the air to catch up on some reading. I hope the next few days pass quickly.

More pics

The post below had to be broken up due to size, so here's the rest.

The boys on their first ride at the fair.

My first tree after being "certified". I learned how to estimate where the top of the tree would fall. I missed by less than 18 inches, I'm happy.

Now I'm working to build two holes of a miniature golf course for our fall festival at church. Pictures to follow later.

Let's catch up with pictures

It has been a while since the last update. Since then it has been non-stop with lots of scouting and not a lot of rest. Also in that time frame I have been through chain saw training with the Baptist Men Disaster relief team and we experienced our first ever Mississippi State Fair as well as our annual Merchants Foodservice sales banquet.

One of the best inventions ever-a propane powered coffee pot.

Sunday was our friend Thomas's birthday and this is the cake that Sharon made for him. Only in Mississippi do you find a crawfish boil cake.

Dressing Up

Twice a year we get to play dress up. Last night was the first of these events. We attended the annual Sales Banquet for John's company. In December, we will attend my company's Christmas Party. That means I will get to wear the above dress one more time, before it is banished to a life of hanging in the closet.I wanted to include last year's picture, just for fun. I really like last years dress. I may have to convince John we need a fancy date night so I have an excuse to wear it again. It's not that I don't like to dress up, I just don't have many opportunities. We definitely need to change that fact.
